Basic Job Information:

- Start Date: August 2010
- Student Level: Elementary/Middle/High
- Working Hours: 9am-5pm
- Paid Vacation days: 4-5 weeks
- Teaching Hours: 22 hours/week only
- Accommodations: Furnished single housing or housing allowance
- Travel Allowance: 2.6M KRW, 1/2 on arrival and 1/2 on completion
- Re-settlement Allowance: 300,000 KRW paid upon arrival in Korea
- Health Insurance: National Medical Insurance provided
- Severance Pay: One month salary upon contract completion

* Important Notice *
All the EPIK positions will fill very quickly. Applications will be submitted to EPIK since April 1, and interviews will commence in early April. All positions will likely be filled at the latest by mid-June. Although you have been offered a contract, it doesn¡¯t guarantee your position till you submit completed visa documents. Positions are filled by first come and first serve.

Applicants Qualification

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be English native speakers from US, CAN, UK, IRE, AUS, NZD or RSA
Must hold Bachelor¡¯s or higher degree from an accredited university in any field
For EPIK public school position, minimum qualification is only Bachelor¡¯s degree in any field, therefore we strongly recommend all applicants to apply for EPIK.

For Only Seoul public school positions, you should meet at least the criteria of level 2. The minimum qualification of level 2 must have one of the following:

Level 2:
  • Bachelor's degree plus Teacher's certificate
  • Bachelor's degree plus 100+ hour TEFL / TESOL / CELTA certificate
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English Education, or English Language / Literature
  • Bachelor's degree plus 1 yr full-time English teaching experience
  • Master's degree in any discipline
Level 3:
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
You can still apply with only Bachelor¡¯s degree for Seoul Public school positions. The easiest way to qualify is to obtain a TEFL/TESOL certification of 100 hours. Required Documents for 1st round Application:
All applicants MUST provide the following documentation:
- A Completed EPIK Application Form (including a passport size photo)
- Two Scanned Recommendation Letters (from a professor or a former or current employer)
Required visa documents after EPIK position is offered:

Must provide completed documents ASAP since positions are filled by first come and first serve. It is highly recommended to start preparing documents from the beginning of application.
  • Apostilled Criminal background check (For only Canadians, Notarization by Korean consulate required)
  • An Apostilled copy of university diploma or Notarized copy of diploma by Korean consulate
  • An official university transcript sealed and enveloped
  • A copy of the information page of your passport (photo page),
  • (If applicable) Copies of certification (teacher certificate, TESOL, etc),
  • (If applicable) Proof of teaching/work experience (must include Letter head and period of employment)
