EPIK Teacher Application

The EPIK program in South Korea is a unique teaching opportunity to work at public schools throughout all areas of this beautiful and culturally rich south-east Asian country. This is a unique opportunity to teach in the Korean public school system, and as of this year, because of the high demand for native English instructors, the Korean government has changed immigration laws to allow applicants with an associate degree or with only two completed years of university or college to be able to obtain a teaching visa.

Benefits:
|
Pension: 50% of your compulsory contributions paid by employer.
Medical Insurance: 50% of your premiums paid by employer.
Settlement Allowance: All teachers will be provided with a settlement allowance of 300,000 KRW in the first month of their first contract.
Special Bonus: A special allowance of 200,000 KRW/month will be paid to EPIK ELIs who renew to a third contract after having served two consecutive years of successful service with the same POE as a Level 1 EPIK ELI.
Airfare Reimbursement: All EPIK ELIs, regardless of level, will be provided with 1.3M KRW which includes one way ticket of flight fare and medical check up fee. Also, When they return home after completing their one-year contract, 1.3M KRW will be provided. Anyone who resign with in 6 months of the contract, he/she will be obligated to reimburse the initial 1.3M KRW to EPIK.
Tax Exemption: With the exception of Canadians, all regardless of level, are exempt from paying Korean income tax for the first two years of their employment in Korea.
Severance Pay: All teachers who successfully complete a one-year contract will be entitled to receive severance pay. Severance pay is equal to approximately one month's salary.
Accommodations: Free furnished housing or a rent subsidy will be provided:

A leased house/apartment/studio-type room as well as basic household goods will be provided by one's school. Basic household goods include: a bed, a table and chairs, a wardrobe, a gas stove, a refrigerator, a washing machine, a microwave oven, and a TV set. |

Utilities are not provided for and are the responsibility of the teacher. |

|
Due to variations in housing costs in different regions of Korea, the size and location of the supplied housing can vary. |

|
If housing is unavailable, a monthly rent subsidy of 350,000 KRW will be provided in lieu of free furnished housing. |
Paid Vacation: 21 days paid vacation ( 10 days in summer and 11 days in winter) + all national holidays. |
